Abstract

Dr. Gohar Noshai is one of the greatest figures of Urdu research and compilation. He started his research studies in the nineteen sixties. In research, he belongs to Lahore School of Thought. His research is marked by extreme diligence and attention to detail. He discovered rare manuscripts and critically examined them. It was customary for him to access all the manuscripts regarding the subject and after careful consideration and deliberation, the most important of them was selected by Dr.Gohar Noshai. Dr.Sahib in addition to Urdu also made compilations on many other subjects, but the present article deals only with his Urdu Compilations. His notable Urdu compilations are Betaal Pacheesi ,Mansvi Hasht Adal,Ramz ul Ishq ,Padmavat e Urdu, Nitaj ul mouani,and these have been discussed and debated over here.
