In the desert cholistan the signs of civilizations on the banks of the lost river Hakra are found which are considered to be the first signs of civilization in the region. The Hakra Valley is the first place where human civilization’s signs are discovered.
The Siraiki language is the language of Indus Valley civilization, the Indus Valley that emerged on the banks of Hakra River and then reached its peak on the banks of Indus River. This language was spoken only over here it has not come from outside. It is obvious that it would have changed some what in the journey of thousands of years. The Literature and writing system of this language existed in the ancient time. The script of the Indus Valley could not be read like the script of other ancient civilizations. So many facts are still shrouded in mystery. The academic literary treasurer of this language dates back to the arrival of the Muslim in the Indus Valley.
The formal beginning of Siraiki literature comes from Hazrat Mullan’s Noor Nama, which is written in 500AH. This “Noor Nama” seems to be the translation of Persian composition “Afrinish”. This composition is about the Islamic concept of the creation of the universe which is very popular in every household of Siraiki Wasaib. And it is red in every house on daily basis. This tradition is still alive in many areas. After this era, we find the asset of Siariaki language in the form of poetry and it revolves around the religious and social aspects. Which can be described as reformative and it is preserved under the same objective. The Sufi Poetry started in the era of poetry based on religious themes.
The gradual evolution of sufi poetry is not visible in Siraiki history of literature. Suddenly we find a bulkier personality and power full poetic voice of Baba Fareed. Baba Fareed always exhorted to obey general orders of Shariah through his poetry. He himself not only obeys but also preaches to obey the common and complex orders of Shariah. In the Siraiki literature the life and powerful era of Sofi thought is from Fareed to Fareed means that from Baba Fareed to Khawaja Fareed. The name of Khawaja Fareed is affectionate to Baba Fareed. Baba Fareed and Khawaja Fareed both are followers of Chishti dynasty of Sufism.
Khawaja Fareed was brought up in a religious environment and he memorized the Holy Quran at the age of 7. He also studied the popular sciences of his era. At many places Khawaja Fareed used the parts of verses of Holy Quran in his poetry. In this essay the use of components of the Quranic verses in “Kalam Freed” is the main theme. Khawaja Fareed has used words from Holy Quran in his poetry very artistically that you cannot resist to appreciate his artistic mastery. In this article we have collected the components of all Quranic verses. The verses from which these words are taken have been quoted here along with the translation and at the end the topics have been identified for which the Quranic verses have been used as the subject of his poetry.
