Abstract

Dr. AB Ashraf is a renowned Urdu scholar, researcher, critic, columnist, sketcher, novelist, and educator and travel writer. The name of Dr. AB Ashraf is a reliable reference in the tradition of modern Urdu travelogue. He not only played a key role in consolidating the tradition of modern Urdu travelogues but also gave a unique identity to the tradition of Urdu travelogues with his two travelogues; "Zauq-e-Dasht-Nawardi" and "Hawas-e-Saer-o-Tamasha". Literary eloquence, literary beauty, observation, experiences, romantic perspectives, sequence of events, detailing, imagery, fascinating style, social, political, religious, cultural and historical information, ethics and democracy and Features like freedom are prominent features of his travelogues.
