Abstract

The Holy Quran is the last revealed book of Allah SWT who sent his last message to all races of mankind and for all times hence? even the language of The Holy Message Arabic has to remain lasting as its message? which it sustaining. With the mercy of Allah SWT? the Holy Quran revealed in different seven ways of recitations as long as recitation of the Holy Quran has its own significance among all good deeds in the Islam. Although? saying of the Messenger ? about seven ways which were narrated in different phrases witness the easiness of the Islam during recitation of the Holy Quran. As the Prophet Muhammad ? said: "Gabriel recited the Qur'an to me in one way. Then I requested him (to read it in another way)? and continued asking him to recite it in other ways? and he recited it in several ways till he ultimately recited it in seven different ways."( )

No doubt that collection of the Holy Quran in a written form at one place lead to new schools of thought – Basra and Kofa - in first couple of Islamic centuries. Both schools of thought played vibrant role in foundation of Arabic Language? Syntax? Morphology? and all other related studies in service of the Holy Quran. Basra and Kofa continued their contribution with kind of competition during 2nd and 3rd centuries especially. Each one of them has its own characteristics make it special in itself and distinguished form the other. The Study of Holy Quran was like center of gravity for both schools particularly ways of recitation of the Holy Quran. This article is description of Kofa school of thought in overall through Chosen Recitation ways of The Holy Quran by Ahmed Salab Al-Kofi as he has his own significance among Kofi scholars of his age after Ali Hamza Al Kisae (the founder of Kofi school of thought)? Yahya Zayyad Al Farra (a legend of Kofi school after its founder). Ahmed Salab Al Kofi faced lot of debates with schools from Basra i-e; Al- Anbari and wrote number of books which described his views and distinguished work in service of The Holy Quran. His opinion about his works? debates and many of his sayings recorded by his students and other scholars are famous among students and researchers throughout Islamic history. In this article thirteen verses from the Holy Quran are studied under the light of modern language.
