Abstract

Humans are called social animal. If we look around us, every nation has its own standard of humour which is considred necessary to maintain balance in life. It is also obvious in literature including other fields of human life. There are many great writers of Urdu which can be quoted in this concern. Siddique Salik is one of them who have highlighted the social evils in his writing but apart from it he has also tried to convey his message to the new generation indirectly about western civilization and culture. He has used descent language in his humourous writings. His humour provides courage to tolerate the worries and bitterness of life with smile. This article presents different forms of satire and homour in Siddique Salik's writings.
