Abstract

Lexicography is a collective and institutional work. If the work of lexicography in a language is not comprehensive and extensive then individually prepared dictionaries are useful to know the word. Such is the case with Siraiki Literature. Due to lack of a comprehensive dictionary for the connoisseur of Kalam Fareed, individual dictionaries came to the fore. Some researches compiled only the dictionary and some compiled both the dictionary and translation. Some also made a dictionary, translation and interpretation of Kalam Fareed. The essential fact is that every work, be it one-dimensional, two dimensional or three-dimensional, each has its own place and rank, importance and utility.

Lexicography is a formal, authoritative and scientific work. In which to grasp the phonetics to organize words with the help of script, to tell about the birth, to describe the semantic positions of the word for solution dictionary, movement and death or obsolescence of a word. Telling about the origin of the word from which language it is derived. To refer to which great poet or writer first use this word. Making and telling the spelling of the word, about the origin, derivation and gender of the word. In modern Lexicography, there is also the facility to find out what the English, Sanskrit, Prakriti, Arabic and Persian meanings of this word are. Therefore, a dictionary is a world, and Lexicography is a world-making, and lexicography is the knowledge of a world view.

Dewan Fareed’s lexicography done by a committee. He consider all the prevailing needs of the times and tried hard to fulfill them and got public satisfaction and acceptance, Dewan Fareed’s lexicography needs to be adapted to modern requirements. There is a need for experts along with modern scientific principles and equipment. The important thing is that there is a need for a comprehensive and unanimous work on Dewan Fareed’s lexicography.
